2010 Commonwealth Games media accreditation process

May 19, 2010, Ottawa - Canadian media planning to attend the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India from October 3 to 14, 2010 are invited to complete their Online Accreditation Application Forms effective immediately. All applications and passport-style colour photographs must be submitted by June 15, 2010.

Below are some basic tips for filling out the accreditation application. Additional information and step-by-step instructions and troubleshooting tips are available in the Delhi 2010 Accreditation System Online Instruction Guide [PDF 2.63MB].

Please note:

Application forms that have been completed incorrectly will not be processed;
No further changes can be made to the online application after final submission;
Applicants will be automatically logged out of the system if the session is inactive for 30 minutes or more; and,
The best browser to view this system is Internet Explorer 7 or 8.

To apply for accreditation, media must:

Enter the case-sensitive passwords:

Select the category of accreditation: E, Es, EP, EPs or ENR

Fill out the application by following the detailed instructions listed on page 24 to 30 of the Delhi 2010 Accreditation System Online Instruction Guide (HYPERLINK).

Upload a passport-style photograph:
- The file format must be .jpg or .jpeg;
- Each file should not exceed 50 kb;
- The photograph must be original;
- The background must be plain;
- No hats, hair bands or dark glasses should be worn unless for religious, cultural or medical reasons;
- The photo must show the front view of the applicant’s head/shoulders; and,
- The file title must be formatted as such: FIRSTNAME_LASTNAME_DOB.jpg (DDMMYYYY).

Once the data is accurately entered, choose any one of the following actions:
- Submit application to D2010: This sends the application form and photo in for accreditation. Once submitted, this application cannot be modified.
- Save application: This saves the data, enabling the user to come back and complete the application at a later date.
- Cancel: This cancels the application, and deletes all data that has been entered.

Once the application is submitted, a confirmation page will be displayed with all application data and the opportunity to print a receipt.

Please remember, every person seeking accreditation must be registered by June 15, 2010 to ensure the issue of an entry visa and avoid delays on arrival.
