CGC Awards

Award of Merit

The Award of Merit is to honor an individual who has made distinguished and lasting contributions to the furtherance of the aims and objectives of Commonwealth Games Canada (CGC) and the Commonwealth Games Foundation of Canada (CGFC), both domestically and internationally. The award is granted once in each quadrennial.

Significant Contribution Award

After the Award of Merit, the Significant Contribution Award is the second-most prestigious award presented by Commonwealth Games Canada. This Award serves to recognize extraordinary significant contributions made in three main forms:

  1. Cash Donations: Personal or corporate financial contributions to support or further the activities of the CGAC/CGFC;

  2. Gifts In-kind: Personal or corporate contributions of goods or services which support or further the activities of the CGAC/CGFC; and

  3. Good Works: Personal or corporate activity, which supports or furthers the goals and activities of the CGAC/CGFC.
