The XIX Commonwealth Games were awarded to Delhi, India at the CGF General Assembly in November, 2003. Delhi defeated Canada’s candidate city, Hamilton, Ontario to win the right to host the 2010 Games.
This will be the first time the Games are hosted in India, the most populous country in the Commonwealth.
The 2010 Games are scheduled for October 3-14, 2010.
