2014 was a great year for Boxing Canada at the international level. The men’s team conquered a Gold medal during the Commonwealth Games on the fists of 91 kg Samir El Mais. The women’s team won Silver and Bronze medals at the Commonwealth Games with 75kg Ariane Fortin and 51kg Mandy Bujold. Also, 75kg Ariane Fortin claimed Bronze at the AIBA World Championships and Silver at the Continental Championships.

2015 is expected to be a busy year for Boxing Canada's athletes with a number of international competitions planned all in preparation for the upcoming Pan Am Games in Toronto and the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. As a result, the high performance committee has selected the Elite and Youth National Teams as well as the new U24 Team. The Executive Committee has reviewed and approved the selection of the teams recommended by the High Performance Committee. The U24 program primary goal is to provide targeted up and coming boxers with the experience necessary to become a National Team member and contribute to Canada’s international success and program development.
