As part of the Department of Canadian Heritage, Sport Canada strengthens the unique contribution that sport makes to Canadian identity, culture and society. Sport Canada strives to enhance opportunities for all Canadians to participate and excel in sport. This is achieved by enhancing the capacity and coordination of the Canadian sport system, encouraging participation in sport and enabling Canadians with talents and dedication to achieve excellence at the international level. Commonwealth Games Federation

CGF is responsible for the direction and control of the Commonwealth Games. As a means of improving society and the general well being of the people of the Commonwealth, the CGF also encourages and assists education via sport development and physical recreation. Underlying every decision made by the CGF are three core values: Humanity, Equality, and Destiny. These values help to inspire and unite millions of people and symbolize the board mandate of the CGF within the Commonwealth. Olympic Solidarity

The origin and development of a true Olympic Solidarity concept, a process constantly being perfected, has become a cornerstone for the work of the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and, as a consequence, a factor that has significantly contributed towards ensuring their normal operation, enabling them to enjoy greater independence and autonomy. Olympic Solidarity’s aim is to organize assistance for all the NOCs, particularly those with the greatest needs, so that they can develop their own structures to favor the expansion of sport and promotion of Olympism in their country. Running Room is North America’s largest specialty Running & Walking Retailer of sporting goods, apparel and footwear, operating 114 corporately owned stores from coast to coast. Running Room’s reputation has been built upon product innovation, quality and knowledge of the sport of running. The Running Room and CGC teamed up for the Game of Life Run Walk event to raise awareness about CGC’s International Development through Sport (IDS) programs.
