SportWORKS - Making a Difference & Becoming Different

The CGC SportWORKS Program is a collection of initiatives that
sends Canadian sport leaders
(called Canadian SportWORKS
Officers, or “CSOs”) to countries around the world from
1 week to 1-year placements designing and delivering sustainable
sport programs and building sport system capacity.

Queen Elizabeth Scholars Initiative (2015 - )

Elite senior Sport Management students from Brock University (SportWORKS officers), undertake 4 month internships in Commonwealth Countries to assist with unique Sport for Development projects in the areas of Athlete Development, Sport and Education and Multi Sport Games Planning while gaining experience to prepare them for a career in sport. Sport Leaders Abroad Initiative (2012- )

The Sport Leaders Abroad Initiative utilizes the skill sets of established Canadian sport personnel to share best practices on a number of topics that benefit sport organizations abroad, while also enhancing the Canadian sport system by providing international experiences to participants.

CGA Capacity Support Initiative 

(2009-2014)

SportWORKS Officers assist Commonwealth Games Associations (CGA) in different countries with sport administration activities ranging from programming, fundraising and communications to the implementation of the Games Management software program Zeus.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Canadian Sport Leadership Corps (2001-2009)

The Canadian Sport Leadership Corps focuses on international programs that innovatively apply development through sport to address social issues (basic education,nutiriton and health, capacity building, child protection and HIV/AIDS) in developing commonwealth nations.
