The Sport Leaders Abroad Program
sends qualified and experienced Canadian
sport leaders (administrators, coaches, officials, etc.) to assist their counterparts in their fields/sports of expertise in countries around
the world.
 

Peter Metuzals

Leader Bio: Peter's expertise includes sponsorship and revenue generation. He also has significant experience in negotiating creative partnership, pricing, and property evaluations. He is an innovative and successful Senior Executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience. Peter was the Director of Marketing and Communications  at Rowing Canada from 1996 - 2000. From there he moved into the role of Director of Marketing and Business Development for Canadian Interuniversity Sport for a duration of 7 years. Currently, Peter is the President and CEO of the Formentor Group as well as Senior Advisor, Marketing, Sponsorship, and Business Development at Speed Skating Canada.

Placement Date: May 5-15, 2013

Placement Details: During his placement with the National Olympic Committee, Peter assisted in the designs and delivery of sport marketing programs. His goal was to help to build the national sport system capacity to be a catalyst to the host organization’s future success and growth.

It's extremely rewarding to take part in a program such as Sport Leaders Abroad. I am hopeful that I can look back in a few years at the work that I did here and know that I made a positive influence within this organization and helped them grow towards future success.
