SportWORKS - Making a Difference & Becoming Different

The Sport Leaders Abroad Program
sends qualified and experienced Canadian
sport leaders (administrators, coaches, officials, etc.) to assist their counterparts in their fields/sports of expertise in countries around
the world.

Sport Leaders Abroad Program

The intent of the Sport Leaders Abroad Program (SLAP) is to utilize the skill sets of Canadian sport personnel in both a sport specific manner and in relation to sharing best operation practices (e.g. coaching, officiating, athlete development, sport sciences, volunteer management, finance, sport administration, etc.) in order to benefit sport organizations abroad while enhancing the Canadian sport system by providing international experience opportunities to our Canadians.

The SLAP is a cost sharing initiative with all partners – Commonwealth Games Canada (CGC), host organization and Canadian sport leader – contributing to the realization of the program goals.
