STAFF DIRECTORY

Chief Executive Officer: Brian MacPherson - x 4
A proven leader with an abundance of highly relevant experience.  An innovator and strategic thinker, Brian has led several national sport organizations and each one has achieved record-level performances, on and off the field of play.  Brian offers more than a quarter century in senior leadership positions in Canadian high performance sport. A former Executive Director at the Federation of Canadian Archers as well as Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada, he also served as Chief Executive Officer for the Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC). There, he built successful partnerships and sponsorships that increased CPC revenues by a factor of ten. During his tenure, Canadian teams produced best-ever results in both summer and winter Paralympic Games.

Manager, Programs & Operations:  Kelly Laframboise - x 2
A 33-year veteran with Commonwealth Sport Canada and one of the original staffers hired prior to the Auckland, New Zealand Commonwealth Games in 1990. Kelly has been involved with the behind-the-scenes administrative and logistical operations for nine (9) major Games and five (5) Youth Games. Kelly holds the position of Team Leader Operations on Team Canada's Mission Staff along side with managing the CSC Office and supporting the CEO and Board of Directors of both the Association & Foundation.  Kelly was invited by the CGF to join the 2018 CGF/CGA Reference Committee and the Accreditation Working Group.  Kelly is also Chair of Major Games Canada.  Kelly has previously worked at Field Hockey Canada, Federation of Canadian Archers, Badminton Canada and Canadian Sport & Fitness Administration Centre.

Programs & Operations Assistant:  Chris Taylor - x 1
A graduate of Carleton University in Ottawa, Chris is Commonwealth Sport Canada's Administrative Assistant. Chris has also been involved with the behind-the-scenes Team Canada logistics for four major Games and four Youth Games - sometimes supporting from the sidelines back in the office or onsite with the Team.  Before joining CSC in 2005, Chris worked in England in the U.K. Government's Department for Culture, Media and Sport.

SportWORKS Program Manager:  Ryan Pelley - x 3
After graduating with a Masters in International Sport Management from the Johan Cruyff Institute in Amsterdam, Ryan is now in his tenth year of working in sport, with a focus on the creation and management of sport development and sport for development initiatives, both in Canada and abroad. He has previously worked as the Executive Director of Hockey Players for Kids, Sport for Change, and the Alberta Curling Federation. As well, Ryan was an Event Director for Hockey Night in Canada’s Play On. In a volunteer capacity, he spent a year overseas as a Canadian SportWORKS Officer,  on the  remote island of St Helena in the South Atlantic, to offer developmental support to the national sport association and youth sport organizations. Ryan is also the recipient of a 2016 Canadian Commonwealth Sport Award in the category of Sport Development Excellence – SportWORKS Award.
