BRONZE MEDAL FOR DOROTHY LUDWIG - SHOOTING

Langley, BC's Dorothy Ludwig just squeezed into the shooting final of women's 10m air pistol today, in 8th place. As shooters do not carry over their preliminary scores of the final, it was a fresh start in the final and she finished the event in third place, earning the bronze medal. When asked how she did it, her answer was: "I shot more 10's!".

"I'm very excited", she said, "the competition went very well. I wasn't that happy with my preliminary score which had me in 8th place, but I focused that much harder in the final - one shot at a time."

Dorothy's preliminary score was 375, and her final score was 177.2.

Ludwig's sister, Linda Kiejko, of Calgary, AB, who gave birth to her daughter Olivia just 18 days ago, also made the women's 10m air pistor final today, finishing in 5th place.
