Flash Quotes: Track Cycling July 26

Jasmine Glaesser (Coquitlam, BC) - 10th in Women's 10km Scratch Race

On the expectations her and her teammates (Stephanie Roorda and Laura Brown) had going into the final:

"Coming into the race there was three of us racing for team Canada and anyone of us would have been happy with a medal."

On how the race unfolded:

"We were definitely hoping for more of an aggressive race from some of the other countries."

"Coming on a sprint finish like that didn't really suit us and it would have been nice to have walked away with a medal for sure, but the points race is still coming up."

On the Sir Chris Hoy velodrome:

"Its a great atmosphere. Anytime you get to compete in the UK you know the fans are right behind the racing so it always makes for a fun race."

Vincent De Haitre (Cumberland, ON) - 7th in Men's 1000m Time Trial

On his performance:

"The time is what I was aiming for. I was aiming for a mid-103, which is what we had predicted for my performance based on training results."

On the strategy of his ride:

"Our strategy I did as planned where I hammer out the first lap and the next half lap. Then relax a little more for the next 100 and get back on it when there was two laps to go."

De Haitre was paired up with Bruce Croall of Scotland for his heat an enjoyed the experience of racing against the hometown rider:

"It was definitely nice to have the extra encouragement. Although the [cheering] is not for you I pretend it is".
