MEN'S ARTISTIC GYMNASTS START THE COMPETITION WITH A BRONZE MEDAL IN THE TEAM EVENT

BRONZE FOR MEN’S GYMNASTICS TEAM IN TEAM EVENT

Canada’s Men’s Gymnastics Team wrapped up the team event today at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow with a bronze medal, behind gymnastics powerhouse England and the host country Scotland.  A visibly elated Scott Morgan (North Vancouver, BC) said:  “It felt really good, it was a better day today and we had our stronger events; we just went out there and gave it everything we got. “

Kevin Lytwyn (Stoney Creek, AB) added:  “We hit our routines; yesterday was a bit of a rough day. These are our better events and we expected to come in and get the job done, which is what we did.”

In addition to winning the bronze medal, Canada has qualified the following gymnasts in the top 8, earning them spots in the individual apparatus competitions, which begin Thursday, July 31st:
